Our mission is to support a line up of creatives with booking, consulting, brand development and special projects. Artists include musicians, poets, playwrights, lecturers, musicians, authors, educators who serve as active creators & community leaders.
The muse behind the name YNME derives from a simple question ‘Why Not Me?’
Founded in August 2019, our goal is to support writers & performers of color who balance their self-defined artistic excellence with multi-disciplinary practices. YNME strives to be a home for creative innovation, talent representation and community engagement.

Q: What type of events do you book for?
A: This depends on the artist, but typically our artists accept requests for: poetry readings, panels, workshops, theater performances, skill building, hosting, curating, event planning, interviews, and more.
Q: Are we required to book the entire roster?
A: No, each artist carries a different set of life experiences, approaches, values and resources. Each artist can be booked individually, but if there are multiple YNME artists you would like to book, we can accommodate this as well.
Q: Do we have to pay for your services? If so, how much?
A: Although we have a community-centric roster, each artist hopes and expects to be compensated for their time, energy and talents. The prices vary amongst artists and depends on the size of your institution, organization and/or event. It is helpful, on our end, for you have a sense of your budget prior to reaching out.
Q: I want to join the roster. How can I be down?
A: We are currently not adding to our Roster, although we are hoping to reassess in December 2020. Once our administrative staff builds, we will be more equipped to manage more artists. Stay tuned.
Q: How have you been impacted since COVID19? Are you still accepting bookings?
A: Our artists are still performing virtual events (only) - typically hosted by organizations and institutions. We’d recommend following each artist individually on social media to stay up to date with their shows / appearances. COVID 19 disrupted YNME, LLC while we were still making strides during our first year as a company. Two national tours were also disrupted due to COVID 19, and our artists were impacted financially. We are a Black owned business and 95% of the funds from August 2019 - September 2020 have been distributed directly to our artists.
Q: Are you accepting applications for employment?
A: Currently we are not in a position to hire part-time or salaried employees. We are hiring on a contractual basis, and accepting applications for individuals who are seeking to fulfill internship hours. If interested, send us a PDF version of your resume and cover letter for consideration: .
Q: Do you have office hours?
A: We typically operate on weekdays within the hours of 10 AM - 4 PM PST. We also strive to be responsive within 48 hours of receiving an email. If you have yet to hear from us regarding an email communication, feel free to send a “good old fashioned” follow up email.
Q: I want to talk to the artist directly. Can I do this?
A: The purpose of the services we provide help alleviate our artists’ workload. We do recommend for you to contact us directly, and it will prove to be more effective than direct messages to the artist. If your event or question is urgent, simply state ‘urgent’ in your email subject line, so we can return the communication within a timely manner.
Q: How do you pronounce YNME?
A: However the spirit moves you. We've heard it (and use it) all types of ways "YEN-ME" "WINE-ME" etc. Fear not, and lean into the discomfort of the name. Call to book us when you do. :)
